How to successfully increase your AdSense earnings

The most important thing for the majority of bloggers and website owners is to make money from them. The most popular form of making money on the Internet for bloggers is to use google AdSense, but that's where good and bad bloggers start to appear. A good blogger will strategically place there Adsense units and maximize their CTR to earn the maximum amount from their blogs. This is very hard though but hopefully with a bit of help from me you should double your AdSense earnings by just putting in a few hours on your blog today!

Improve your CTR

Improving your CTR basically means to improve the amount of people per thousand that are clicking your advertisements (An average CTR is from between 1% -4%.)To do this you need to follow the 2 primary methods I have listed below in the form of Advertisement Placement & Advertisement Colour.

More Traffic

An increase in traffic is always going to increase your AdSense earnings because there's more people so a bigger chance of someone clicking your Ads, but without refining your site by getting a good CTR you will be missing out on a lot of revenue! Think of it as a shop, you wouldn't leave shelves empty because your not using the full potential of your space in the shop. So getting a high CTR means getting a better amount per 1000 visitors per month.

Advertisement Placement

Placing your advertisement at the bottom of each web page is going to get you a very poor CTR and you wont earn as much money as you possibly could, placing a advertisement at the top of your blog will achieve a much better CTR hence making you more money.

Use Large Advert Blocks

Using large advertisement blogs means there's a bigger region of advert in a condensed space, placing a large advertisement blog such as a 336x280 large rectangle or a 250x250 square will achieve a higher CTR. These 2 ad types would be best for me on my blog but sometimes link units such as 728x15 can be very affective if placed towards the top of a web page.

Advertisement Colour

The colour of your advertisements is very important, if your adds stand out then this will draw attention to them but wont necessarily get people to click them. Some bloggers assume that attention on adverts mean clicks but this isn't correct. If you blend your adverts into your site then this will achieve a lot higher CTR for your website. You can use a program called adobe photo shop to get the HTML colour codes for your website so you can match the colours exactly.

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post but remember there's only so far a low traffic site can go, on average per 1000 impressions you should be looking at earning between $1-$4. Article directories are a great way of getting quality anchor text backlinks and a boost of traffic to your site. Lots of article directories are spammy and not worth using though, so I have found a list of 20 x PR5 article directories for you to use. I would submit unique articles to sites such as Ezine Articles as there acceptance policies are strict! You will need to register on all of the article directory sites but there all free.

How to optimize your sites pictures for google images

Optimizing your site for google images is as important as optimising your site for google search. Google images can bring as much traffic as google search can, Its often a step forgotten or left by webmasters but is very important and will prove to be a very beneficial to your site.

For the purpose of this tutorial I will be using the search term 'Motorbike as by example'

Below are 7 steps which you should follow to google image domination!

1. Always save the pictures with a relevant title. I.e 'Motorbike.png' not 'asjbk213.png'

2. Always use an alt tag for your images. I.e "alt='Motorbike'

3. Place images in and around relevant text. Don't place pictures of a motorbike on a celebrity blog.

4. Use anchor text like you would for a link to link to your picture.

5. Make sure your robot.txt file isn't blocking access to the photos, if your using a few host such as blogger then you don't need to worry about this.

6. Enable the 'Enhanced image search' option on google webmasters tools. To do this go on google webmasters tools click on 'Settings' tab the box Include my site in Google Image Labeler and select 'Save'

7. Always upload a picture so it has its own page, Then link to it from the original blog post with a thumbnail pictures an anchor text.

10 Methods to getting your site indexed in google within 24 Hours

Getting new sites indexed on google can be very difficult and hard if you don't know what your doing and unfortunately its impossible for a website to succeed on the Internet without dominating search engines. Dominating search engines is difficult to do but getting indexed is very easy and can be easily achieved in under 24 hours. Below i have wrote and article for getting your site indexed in google in under 24 hours using only 1 out of 10 suggested methods.

1. Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking is very powerful tool that bloggers have at their expense, social bookmarking is a very easy way to get back links and traffic to our site. You can use sites such as digg.com, sumbleupon, del.icio.us, mixx & reddit to get powerful back links to your blog. You will need to register on them but its free and you don't get any spam. Hitting the front page of any of the popular social bookmarking sites can drive thousands of visitors to your site each hour.

2. Submit your sitemap to google webmaster tools
Submitting your sitemap to google webmasters tools will inform search engines about all the blog posts and links on your blog available to be crawled by search engines. As well as google webmaster tools to get your site indexed it can keep you up to date with any issues with your site and how to fix them. Also it can show you every link to your site and what anchor text they are using to link to your site. To submit your site to google webmaster tools you can use this form here google webmaster tools

3. Post comments on blogs in your niche
Posting a few comments on blogs related to the same subject as yours will provided great quality backlinks. Make Sure to leave a link to your blog on the comment you make and also make sure the blog is a do-follow blog (Do-follow blog directory). 4. Ping-0-Matic

5. Submit your RSS Feed to RSS directories

Submitting your rss feed to rss feed directories will also gain you some quality backlinks to your blog. As well as bringing you some quality backlinks it can provide small amounts of traffic and revenue for your blog. There are several rss feed directories and sites, I would recommend you should submit your blog to this site feedage. You will need to register on the site but its free and once you have submitted your feed it will give your site a cool rating badge!

6. Link Building

Link building can be in the form of anything that means building links to your blog. The only thing i cant emphasize enough on at this point is for you not get spam sites linking to your site. Google and other major search engines can penalise you for getting links from spam sites such as illegal sites, warez sites and other 18+ sites. I would recommend for you to make a video of your site showing users good featured of your site and then submit to YouTube. Make sure you place a link in the video description and this can drive lots of visitors to your site.

7. Directory submissions
Directory submissions used to dominate the SEO world but now they don't have as much significance as they used to, but still Directory submissions are a great way to get easy and fast backlinks to your sites. Some directories you will have to pay to be included in but the majority are free and often have a high Page Rank, make sure you have wrote a brief 200 character description of your site so you can copy paste your site details into the directory submission forms. I would only recommend you submit your site to around 10 directories each day otherwise it will look unnatural and you may be penalised for gaining to many inbound links at once. (I will be putting together a list of around 100 PR3+ directories in the next few days so remember to subscribe to the blog so you don't miss it!)

8. Article Directories

Article directories are a very easy way to gain some quality inbound backlinks to your site, the only issue with article directories is the time it takes to write a quality article to submit to them! It is worth it though, 1 quality article could provide you with 1000+ backlinks to your site. The best article directory on the web is Ezine Articles. Submitting an article to Ezine Articles is free and will provide you with some very high PR backlinks and a lot of traffic. A Successful article can drive around 500+ UV each day for some time, Article directories can sometimes take a while to get your article approved on so I would just use this method to get indexed in under 24 hours.

9. 1 Way link building

1 Way link building is a very challenging and difficult process. If your new to being a blogger then I wouldn't recommend this step for you as It can often take more than 24 hours. I would recommend for you to use squidoo & hubpages to get quality 1 way links to your blog. Create a lens or hub about an issue related to your blog then when ever you can post a back link to your blog then do it! I would recommend placing around 3-4 backlinks per each squidoo lens and hub pages you create. Here's a brilliant site teaching you how to promote squidoo lens.

10. Forum Posting

Forum posting can be a very successful way to getting your site indexed quickly. I generally find 5 forums related to my niche and make 5-10 quality forum posts on each forum with a link to my site in my signature. This can provide you with a little amount of traffic depending on the activity of the forum and it can also provide you with some good quality backlinks.
